This series covers most math topics, from basic math through calculus. Most of the instruction is delivered by text and drawings accompanied by a narrator. It is not a program that can solve equations for you, nor does it offer quick homework help.
Learning System Math and Computer Skills offers the same math information as the Learning System high school version, but we placed the high school version higher in the review because it includes more subjects.
Most of this program consists of instruction offered through text, graphics and audio. It also includes a few quizzes and exams and once you reach a certain level you can play some simple games.
This software is not a good program for homework assistance. You cannot quickly look up step–by–step solutions to sample problems. It also does not have an advanced calculator or worksheet that solves unique problems or creates graphs.
This program consists of 10 hours of tutorials and interactive exercises that cover most math subjects, from basic math through statistics and calculus. It has three CD–ROM disks that are meant for students 8–18, beyond math this collection also offers some excel and JAVA instruction.
Although this program is not as nearly as archaic as some educational programs, it cannot compare to Microsoft Student, which updates constantly and provides relevant and up–to–date online content.
This program is easy to use, but in terms of support all we could find was an email address and it does not come with a quick start up guide or a user manual.
This program does not offer much more than what a text book can offer, it may be a good choice for those who do not have formal instruction or for those that have a difficult time reading and need a narrator to help them get through text.
